Task 1 – Who are you?

Create a program like the one shown below but change Mr Hill  to your name.  Test your program in the Micro:bit simulator.

TIP: You will find both of these blocks under ‘Basic’ in the block menu shown below.

Click on the default “Hello!” text to change it to your name.

Task 2 – Are you happy or sad?

Create a program like the one shown below:

Test your program in the Micro:bit simulator.  What happens if you click on the A button and what happens if you click on the B button?

Task 3 – Program a dice

Create a program like the one shown below:

This is quite a bit more complicated than the previous tasks. Search through the block menu for the blocks you need.  This is the start of a program to make a micro:bit dice. You need to finish the program!  So far, it works for numbers 1 and 2, you need to add the blocks for 3, 4, 5 and 6.

The easiest way to do this is to right-click with your mouse on a turquoise ‘if.. then..’ block and ‘Duplicate it.  You can insert the new block after the last ‘if.. then..’ block and change the ‘item = …’ number and the ‘show leds’.  See if you can work out how to do this by yourself.

Good luck!
